Physical Development:

Gross and fine motor skills are foundational for children’s development and springboard opportunities for later learning (such as holding a pen to be able to write, riding a scooter or trike and throwing a ball). Moving, handling, co-ordination and control are therefore fundamental components for children to master. Our curriculum deliberately provides many opportunities for children to learn and develop this area both in and out of the classroom through play and exploration. Literacy and maths lessons are also designed to be interconnected with this area of learning and provide meaningful opportunities for children to apply these skills.
