Sports Clubs (including Lakeside Sports)

Good evening families,

Please ensure you read this email in full. If you have any queries, contact us directly at kidsclub@windermere.cumbria.sch.uk.

On behalf of Kids Club and our sports coaching team, we hope you all had a lovely Easter break. Thank you for your kind messages of support for both myself and the England squad at the Indoor Hockey World Cup. While it wasn’t the result we had hoped for, it puts us in a strong position heading into the World Cup in Belgium this summer.

This 6-week Summer Term will be action-packed, so we encourage all children to get involved in our exciting sports programme. Curriculum lessons this term will include cricket, tag rugby, and netball. Please ensure your child is correctly equipped, including: a towel, gum shield, shin pads (worn under long socks), and a lightweight waterproof due to our unpredictable Lakeland weather.

Thank you for your continued support in enabling your child to attend our sports clubs. Our sessions are delivered by experienced coaches and professional assistants, with significant preparation and dedication behind each one.

To ensure your child can take part:

  • Please return the sign-up form promptly with payment in a named envelope
  • Fees contribute towards rent, insurance, equipment, and coaching costs

  • Ensure last terms fees are up to date

Today, your child will receive the Summer Term Sports Programme. Please take time to review it together. There are some changes due to coach availability and facility use, so it’s important to read it carefully.

We’ve worked hard to ensure every year group has access to at least one free sports club, alongside additional clubs available for a small fee. Our provision is unique, and the commitment of our coaching team is widely recognised across Cumbria.
