The St Martin & St Mary School Swimming Pool Committee has been set up to oversee the management and maintenance of the school swimming pool. St Martin & St Mary’s School are extremely fortunate to have a swimming pool in the school grounds and this currently allows us to offer swimming lessons to those who attend the school as well as children from other local schools located in Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead and Staveley.

With no local council run swimming pool now in Windermere, we believe it is imperative that this swimming pool is kept going to ensure local children can learn to swim, something that is incredibly important due to living in an area with multiple open bodies of water.

Due to ever increasing management and maintenance costs, we are looking at fundraising opportunities to ensure the future of the swimming pool.

On the website, interested parties can learn more about the work we are doing as a voluntary group to raise money, maintain the pool and protect its future. Individuals and businesses can also learn about ways in which you can support us through volunteering, donations and advertising. In the near future, we hope to promote some open swimming sessions where individuals and families can book swimming sessions in the pool outside of school hours. You will soon be able to do this through the website.
