A little bit more about us...
We are a friendly, welcoming school with a dedicated and experienced staff team and governing body committed to ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We want every child to enjoy school and have a sense of belonging in a safe and secure environment. Every member of our school community is unique and special and a valued member of our school family. We work hard to continually improve and make our school one to be truly proud of. We encourage all our children 'to be the best that they can be!'
Our school is located between the busy villages of Windermere and Bowness, in a building which is spacious and well maintained. There are ample playing fields, a swimming pool and hard play areas within a pleasing landscaped setting. Our school is set in the beautiful landscape of the Lake District National Park. On our doorstep, we have access to mountains, lakes, rivers, fields, woodlands and farms. We use our grounds and local landscape whenever we can to enhance learning. We routinely travel further afield to enrich our curriculum.
We value highly the links between school and home and recognise that it is parents who make the greatest contribution to their child's learning and development. We are here to support children and their families as they journey to adulthood. Only with an excellent partnership between school and home can we work together towards higher attainment and standards in the education of your child. We work closely with all our families to overcome any barriers to learning.
Whilst academic achievements are an important part of life at our school, all our children also have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of sporting and musical opportunities, as well are regular trips and residential visits. Our pastoral care is exceptional, ensuring all children are kept safe and are supported both inside and outside school.
Our teaching is stimulating and creative and encourages our children to continue their education outside of school and become lifelong learners. We want to ignite an interest in the world around them and for that interest to lead to fulfilling and imaginative lives.
Our website is jam-packed full of information about our school and all the learning and fun that happens here. Please, do get in touch if you would like to learn more.
With very best wishes,
Some of our children meeting His Royal Highness Prince Charles at the opening on the Windermere Jetty Museum in 2019.
