21st January 2020
I am writing to inform you all that after considerable thought, much deliberation and with some sadness, I have tendered my resignation from the Headship of St Martin and St Mary C of E Primary School with effect from 31st August 2020. After 21 years as Headteacher, working here at this school and the predecessor schools of St Mary’s Nursery and Infant and Windermere CE Junior, I feel it is time for me to hand over the reins.
I am immensely proud of all that I have achieved at St Martin and St Mary; very few Headteachers have the opportunity to start a new school and I have spent the past 8 years dedicated to that process. The school is well placed to move forward; with a skilled and dedicated staff, lovely children, supportive parents, good governors and a building and facilities that support what we do. I know that the next Headteacher will be well supported by all so that the school continues to go from strength to strength.
The Governors will have overall responsibility for appointing a new Headteacher to start in September 2020. This process will start immediately.
This is something that I will discuss with children in the summer. In the meantime, I want to reassure you that I will continue to dedicate myself to this school. It is business as usual!
Judith Gore, Headteacher of St Martin and St Mary CE Primary School
