Dear Parent and Carers
Attached is our new Sports After School Programme showing a daily three hour sports provision running up to the end of Spring half term. This programme is also available on our website for you to download for your notice boards and diaries.
Next week is our taster session week. Guided by their teachers, the children will make their way with their belongings to the sports hall. They will be greeted by myself and my assistant coaches and then they will be coached within their chosen sport. If they enjoy the session they will bring a letter home for you to read together and for both of you to sign. The letter will you give you the dates of the clubs and the expectations of the coaches, the children and parents and carers. This charter of behaviour is a very important part of our coaching ethos - please talk about this before you both sign up.
Please collect your children promptly at your club finishing time from the upper school sports hall door. We politely ask you to wait outside the sports hall doors and not block the doorway as we will have lots of children both leaving and arriving for their sports clubs. In addition, please be respectful when parking on Oldfield Road.
All children will be expected to be in their P.E or Games Kit with a lightweight waterproof, towel for field sports and suitable sports trainers. Please ensure that your child also has a clearly named water bottle filled with water and a piece of fruit.
We have a small collection of shin pads and goal keeper gloves for the children to borrow however if your child is playing either running, rugby, hockey or football they will need the following equipment.
Football - Long socks, shin pads
Cross country - Running trainers, towel, shorts
Hockey - Shin pads, gum shields, gloves, long socks
Rugby - Games kit, towel
Long hair tied back and all jewellery removed.
At this school we provide a vast range of sporting opportunities and high level coaching to all the children. The clubs we offer currently include:
