Adam, our Janitor, finishes working in school at the end of next week (27th January 2023) and as yet we have been unable to fill his role in school. Until we can, we need to employ somebody on a part-time basis to unlock the school each morning, unlock our school gates and make sure the school site is ready for the staff and children to arrive. This might involve checking our boilers, gritting, clearing any rubbish etc. None of this would be particularly technical. Timings would be from around 7.30 until 9.30am each weekday morning when school is open but this could be negotiated.

Site Manager and Cleaner - Full time, permanent

 

The Governors are looking to appoint a skilled and motivated Site Manager to maintain oversight of our fantastic and extensive school grounds and buildings in the heart of the Lake District, between the villages of Windermere and Bowness. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of site management and a number of Health and Safety duties. You will work alongside a dedicated staff team who are all committed to achieving the very best for the young people who attend our school.

 

Duties include security, cleanliness, porterage, monitoring contracts/contractors, carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs. Full details of the role are in the Job Description. We would welcome applications from a candidate who has qualifications or experience from the building industry.

 

Start Date: As soon as possible on or after Monday 30th January (Depending on notice period / Safer recruitment checks)

Terms: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with 24 days paid holidays plus 8 bank holidays, this increases each year to a total of 30 days plus 8 bank holidays after 5 years’ service.

Salary Scale: OP7i – 7A/SCP12 - £24,496 fte
